Trying Something New

When I have to do something scary or stressful, I prefer to be surrounded by strangers. At least that’s my gut reaction. Because then no one whose opinion I value will be disappointed if I happen to fall on my face. When faced with a difficult conversation, I’ve been known to write scripts to try to get my thoughts ordered beforehand.

Conversely, I’ve been able to do some very scary things because I had a great support network. They help me prepare, help me clean up the mess, and help me celebrate. But rarely do I let them in on the moment. Something for me to ponder!
